The Launch Monitor Behind the Numbers
Torque and face-timing tell us what the shaft is doing through the swing. A dual-radar launch monitor tells us what the ball did about it. Neither reading means much on its own — a session runs both, side by side, every time.
Dual-Radar Ball Tracking
One unit reads the club through impact, a second tracks the ball off the face. Together they give ball speed, launch angle, spin rate, and carry without waiting on a flight downrange to confirm anything.
Club Data Alongside Ball Data
Face angle and path at impact get logged next to the ball flight numbers, which is what lets us say whether a curvature problem traces back to shaft torque or to something in the swing itself.
Indoor, All Season
Providence winters don't leave a lot of open outdoor fitting windows. The bay setup means a torque-and-launch reading is available in January exactly the same way it is in July.
Torque Tells You Why, Launch Data Tells You What
A shaft with too much torque for a given transition speed will square the face late or early, depending on the player. That shows up as a face-angle number at impact — but face angle alone doesn't say whether the fix is a stiffer torque rating or a swing change. Comparing the torque profile against the actual launch-monitor face-and-path reading is what narrows that down to one answer instead of two guesses.
A Combined Read-Out, Not Two Separate Reports
Every fitting session leaves with one written spec that lists both the shaft torque rating we landed on and the launch numbers that confirmed it — ball speed, spin rate, launch angle, and dispersion — rather than a torque recommendation on one page and a launch monitor printout stapled to the back.
