The Number Most Fittings Skip Is the One That Squares Your Face.

Ask most shops about shaft fit and they'll hand you a flex letter. We start one layer deeper, at torque — the twist resistance that decides when your clubface actually closes through the hitting zone. Get torque wrong for your release, and no amount of tinkering with loft or lie fixes the miss it's causing.

Each fitting starts the same way — we log your current specs, then test alternatives against your own numbers, torque included, rather than a generic shaft chart.

Why Torque, Specifically

Two Shafts, Same Flex Letter, Two Different Misses

Flex describes overall stiffness. Torque describes something narrower: how much the shaft twists around its own axis as clubhead lag releases into the ball. A low-torque shaft resists that twist and tends to deliver a more repeatable, earlier-squaring face for faster, more aggressive tempos. A higher-torque shaft twists more readily, which can add feel and a fuller release for smoother swings — but paired with the wrong tempo, that same twist shows up as an open or closed face at impact.

Two shafts stamped "Stiff" from two different makers can carry noticeably different torque ratings. That's the gap a flex letter alone can't tell you, and the one we measure first.

The Process

From First Swing to a Finished Build in Four Stops

Baseline & Tempo Read

We measure your current clubs and clock your swing tempo before touching a single demo shaft.

Torque & Flex Testing

We test shaft torque and flex combinations against your tempo, logging face angle and dispersion on every swing.

Spec Lock-In

We walk through the readout together and lock the head, shaft, length, and lie/loft spec that best matches your release.

Build & Verify

Clubs are built on our own bench and checked against frequency and swing-weight before you pick them up.

Client Notes

What Golfers Notice First

★★★★★

I'd been fit twice before and always got the same flex recommendation. This was the first place that explained why my slice was a torque problem, not a flex problem — and fixed it.

★★★★★

Full iron set rebuild with matched torque across every shaft. Gapping finally feels like one set instead of six different clubs.

★★★★★

No pressure to buy, just a clear readout of where my current clubs were costing me distance. I ordered a driver two weeks later and the difference showed up immediately.
