A fairway wood has to work from two very different lies — the tee and the turf. We fit both, with torque matched to how you actually load and release the shaft from each.
Tee Shots and Turf Shots, Tracked Separately
We log launch angle, spin rate, and ball speed off both a tee and a turf mat, since attack angle and strike quality shift meaningfully between the two. Shaft torque gets tested against both conditions, not just the cleaner tee lie.
Sole geometry matters here as much as loft: a fairway wood that catches turf inconsistently will undercut even a well-matched shaft, so we check both together.
